The Landing retailers well-placed to service rapid growth

Retailers signing up to The Landing at Wigram Skies are at the centre of a huge surge in urban growth in south west Christchurch. Opportunities within Stage 1 are still available but to be a part of the June opening retailers are urged to enquire now.
The first stage of the 6000m2 retail complex featuring an architecturally designed town square, High Street style collection of restaurants, cafés, shops and mixed use community space will be open for business in June.
Ngāi Tahu Property development manager Alan Grove says retailers are identifying The Landing as an ideal location to service the surrounding residential area and existing suburbs.
“Wigram Skies has 900 sites built or under construction which will house around 2,000 incoming residents. With the population set to treble in the next 35 years, retailers at The Landing are well placed to cater to this growing market,” says Grove.
Wigram Skies and greater south west Christchurch residents can anticipate a variety of dining options and community offerings at The Landing including:
- A 2,600m2 New World supermarket
- Joe's Garage
- Hikari Sushi Bar
- Unichem Pharmacy
- A local veterinary
- The first south island Mexicali Fresh diner
- And a Kindercare Learning Centre.
A medical centre planned for the town centre will further complement this bustling area.
Construction of Stage 1 is progressing quickly and on-track for trading to commence in June.
